Ayer se confirmaba la decisión de fusión entre Symantec y Veritas Software, una operación valorada en 13.500 millones de dólares, que se realizará mediante cambio accionarial. Los CEO de las compañías justificaban la decisión por la convergencia entre los mercados de seguridad y disponibilidad - computing availability software - con estas palabras, en boca del chaval de Symantec: "While the regulatory environment requires increased information security, future business opportunities require more and more information to be made available to a greater number of people. This dichotomy is driving the obvious convergence between securing the infrastructure and ensuring the information availability."
