Motorola, Inc. announced interoperability between Motorola?s MOTOSYNC? technology-enabled mobile phones and Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. The agreement with Microsoft to license the Exchange Server ActiveSync® protocol enables Motorola mobile phones to give enterprise customers direct seamless access to Microsoft Exchange Server 2003.

MSN introduced updates to its free communication services, including Hotmail, Messenger, and a new service called MSN Spaces ? a Web logging (blogging) service that enables consumers to create their own personal place on the Web

Microsoft and BT announced a partnership for a series of messaging related strategic projects. The first new service BT plans to launch is an enhanced e-mail service for smaller businesses based on Microsoft Hosted Exchange. Representatives from a number of industries and international law enforcement agencies announced the establishment of Digital PhishNet, a collaborative enforcement operation that unites industry leaders in technology, banking, financial services and online auctioneering with law enforcement to tackle 'phishing', a destructive and growing form of online identity theft. FastWeb is the primary alternative operator in Italy, providing broadband telecommunication services, and the first operator worldwide to have developed an 'all IP' network to deliver 'Triple Play' services (voice, data, video). Fujitsu Limited and Cisco Systems, Inc. announced that they have reached a fundamental agreement to enter into a strategic alliance focusing on routers and switches that will enable service providers and enterprises to build advanced IP networks. Under this collaboration, Fujitsu and Cisco will carry out joint development of high-end routers, plan future cooperation in routing and switching, and collaborate on continuous quality improvement, enhanced support and service.
