Overpeer will be selling its content-spoofing services to European music companies; they have inked a joint venture with OD2. Both companies were bought by Loudeye earlier this year.
The news is worht mentioning due to the method Overpeer uses for fighting the P2P piracy networks from inside out, by flooding the P2P networks with low quality or bogus content; it's an easy solution for a really stupid problem.
Meanwhile, the actual problem is awaiting behind the scenes: the music industry still refuses to accept that they need a new business model taking into account the value chain of the digital content era.
